Project description

The project will gather and and systematize the scientific researches in the Nordic countries about the effects of efforts to help vulnerable young people to get into work. The main purpose of different types of public initiatives towards youth is that they should prevent prolonged exclusion from the labor market and help young people to have the opportunity to leverage their employability. Both initiatives and efforts that provide job experience and / or training or ordinary education are relevant. In this comparative analysis, we want to include countries such as Germany, Britain and the Netherlands in addition to the five Nordic countries. A substantial part of the work will focus on getting overviews of the relevant researches in this field. With the data collected on research findings we shall perform a meta-analysis using statistical methods to combine and compare different independent studies of the same issue. Based on the results and obtained information about data accessibility in different countries, we will create a project proposal for a closer evaluation of comparable measures in at least two Nordic countries.
