Project description

The project aims at developing an individual discrete labour supply model, and apply it on Norwegian register data. We will try to improve the Norwegian data as an empirical basis for this kind of studies. In particular, an improvement of the foundation for identification of individual choice sets is crucial, as this is essential for the possibility to make inferences about preferences and behaviour. We also wish to contribute to the development of economic theory related to taxes and wage formation, especially in the case where individuals have different wage opportunities and preferences. The aim is to make contributions to the literature about possible conflicts between efficiency and equality.
