Project description

With the Covid19-pandemic (hopefully) behind us, it is now time to learn. The pandemic put the Nordic welfare state model on a test, challenging its social and economic resilience. In this research project we employ high quality administrative data from four countries to investigate the importance of institutions and policies for outcomes such as social mobility and children’s school performance, unemployment and labor market participation, social insurance and the spread of the virus. The data will be utilized for comparative research in a tight collaboration between strong research environments in Aarhus, Helsinki, Oslo and Uppsala, building on already existing and active research cooperation.
