Project description

The project aims to describe causal relations between economic incentives and labour market policies on the one hand, and the search behaviour as well as job-transitions on the other. It is financed jointly by the Nordic Council of Ministers and by the Nordic Committee on Social Science Research. The project has a comparative perspective and will use data from a comprehensive interview survey during the summer of 1998, in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. All four surveys were conducted in approximately the same way, with the same questions to be answered. The project will also carry out parallel analyses of unemployment durations on the basis of register-data from some of the countries. In addition to the Frisch centre, the following research institutes participate in the project: Centre for Labour Market and Social Research (CLS) in Denmark, the Institute for Social Research (ISF) in Norway, the Institute for Social research (SOFI) in Sweden, and the Labour Institute for Economic Research in Finland. The list of publications below cover publications from all these research institutes.
