Project description

In 1997, the Research Council of Norway launched four major research programs related to employment and labor markets, including two addressing "Causes of Low Employment" and "Immigration and the Labor Market." Between 1998 and 2001, these two programs have financed 11 large research projects studying an array of topics such as the consequences of psychological work disability, unemployment among European youth, employment of women and elderly, and assimilation and integration of immigrants. The summary report will discuss the major research findings of the 11 projects. The report will place these findings in a broader context and seek to evaluate their contributions to the national and international scientific communities.
